About Us::
RBC is an innovative retail consultation offering services
to both companies and individuals.
With over 45 years of retail concept development experience, we understand
what motivates customers to action then interpret this understanding into
tactics that modify the existing conditions to the shoppers benefit.
While advertising and promotion is an essential component of the retail mix,
RBC is focused on how to use the built-environment and staff to maximise the
retailerís brand.
Repeatedly the message that is used to entice customers
to go shopping isnít
delivered in the store, either by the staff or the surroundings leaving a
demand for completing this connection.
Avoiding the often intimidating and costly techniques of the typical marketing
consultant, the RBC role is to work with you on your solutions, sharing experience,
proven techniques and proposing the most effective way to further utilise
your current assets to both your immediate and long term advantage.
In addition, the talents of Design Environments, a long established retail
design company skilled in both architectural and graphic design, is available
to assist the brand objectives. Added to this, after many years in collaborative
situations, RBC has associations with professional and cost effective suppliers
such as shopfitters, signwriters, lighting designers, contractors, technicians
and professional services who they could confidently recommend for all demands.
John MacDonald is the principal
of DE/RBC::
He is highly regarded as a designer and retail observer, tracking emerging
consumer behavior and direction. He brings to his clients extensive brand
development experience and the ability to interpret the demands of the customer
and creating a profitable and harmonised shopping experience.
John has gained a wealth of experience during his 45 years in retail. His
roles have been as broad as display artist to signwriter, from store layout
supervisor to merchandiser, advertising department head to marketing manager,
shop manager to fashion chain supervisor, and for the last 18 years as the
director of Design Environments, controlling both architectural and graphic
design as well as project management.
By offering strategy to help clients to live their brand promise through
presentation, independent of the eventual implementation techniques, he is
best positioned to help bring about a fresh paradigm for shopping.
Creativity and innovation plays an essential role in the establishment of
a strategy for a unique client identity. To be successful however, the innovation
must be practical, affordable and able to be easily interrupted into the
retail environment, so consideration of what is achievable is a key element
of the brand creation process.
